Self-Portrait Painting: Using paint, I took the self-portrait drawing that I did, and painted it. The goal of this assignment was to get us to learn how to use paint, how to do different shades and how to shade faces. The main art techniques used here are lines, values, shapes, forms and space. The main design techniques used are balance, proportion, scale, unity, and harmony. While this assignment was a bit more difficult for me, I enjoyed it. I like drawing people, and that's something that I wanted to get better at. While I know this painting could use more work, I'm still happy with it at this point, as it's one of my first attempts at art with paint.

Self-Portrait: Using pencil, I took a selfie (which can be found on my working blog) and drew myself from that picture. The main point of this was to practice drawing people (without tutorials), and to use ourselves as an example. The main art techniques used here are lines, values, shapes, forms, and space. Meanwhile, the main design techniques used are balance, proportion, scale, unity, and harmony. I really liked this assignment, and it was the main one I've been looking forward to in this class. I've been wanting to learn how to draw people for a while now in a more realistic fashion other than my usual "cartoony" style.
Leaf Watercolor Painting: Using pencil and watercolor, I took a picture of some leaves and attempted to pain them. The main point of this was to paint leaves using space, shadows, and to show detail. The main art techniques used are lines, value, shapes, and space. Meanwhile, the main design techniques used are balance, contrast, emphasis, and scale. While I didn't do well on this assignment, I did still enjoy it. It was nice to start to learn how to use watercolors because I normally only use pencils.
